What makes a great franchisee?

Before you buy a franchise you go through a period of self-examination, right? The franchisor will make a detailed assessment of whether you’re the right person to represent its brand too. What are the key attributes of a great franchisee – and will you cut it? We want franchisors, franchisees, bankers and advisors to share thoughts here.

The ideal franchisee is someone who is: a natural leader, team player, has desire for continued education, strong work ethic and genuine willingness to follow a franchise system. Beyond this, franchisee must have a clear vision of the desired future they are trying to create for themselves by joining a franchise system. Thus it is important to have goals -- both financial as well as those related to quality of life. Driven by these goals they are more likely to be successful as the majority of the franchisee's efforts will be focused on tasks/conversations that are designed to bring about their vision of the future.
