The best ways to promote your franchise

Even with an established brand name it’ll take time to build a business in a new region – unless of course you’ve bought an existing franchise. Share your thoughts on ways to put your business on the map here. A special launch event, hire a celeb or local dignitary, print a batch of flyers or do a special offer discount? Your franchisors will give you a great start – but this is where we’d like you to share best practice. What works, what doesn’t? Tell us now.

The franchisor should definitely lead the way with developing the brand/generating leads at the national level. That said, all franchisees should have a proper marketing plan for their local area.

The type of marketing/advertisement depends on the business. For ideas, would recommend reading the following book:

Guerrilla Marketing for Franchisees: 125 Proven Strategies, Tactics and Techniques to Increase Your Profits by Jay Conrad Levinson and Todd Woods

Would recommend that a number of channels be chosen to communicate with target clients. Whatever the method, the message needs to be: direct, clear and consistent.
