How do you select a great franchise opportunity?

We all know you don’t have to have run a restaurant before to buy a McDonald’s franchise and don’t have to have had a career in printing to purchase a Printing.com outlet. But surely a little experience goes a long way. Before you enter the franchising fray, what do you need to ask yourself?

Top 5 that come to mind:

1. What is my vision for the future?
2. What are my strengths and weaknesses?
3. What am I looking for in a franchise business?
4. What am I expecting from the franchisor in regards to training/support/lead generation?
5. Am I really willing to follow a franchise system?

There are many more, but these should be top of the list.
